Research Ethics
At Data Tech Research and Innovation Learning Lab (DRILL), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity and ethical conduct. Our research ethics are guided by the following principles:

3. Justice: Ensuring fairness in the distribution of the benefits and burdens of research. This involves equitable selection of research subjects and fair treatment of all stakeholders involved in the research process.
4. Transparency: Maintaining openness and honesty in all aspects of research, from the planning stages to the dissemination of results. We commit to sharing our findings with the scientific community and the public in a clear and accurate manner.
5. Accountability: Upholding a responsibility to conduct research that adheres to ethical guidelines and standards. Researchers at DRILL are accountable for the integrity of their work and must comply with all applicable laws and institutional policies.
Code of Research Ethics:
• Integrity: Researchers at DRILL are expected to conduct their work with honesty, accuracy, and a commitment to excellence.
• Respect for Intellectual Property: Proper acknowledgment and credit must be given to all contributions and sources of information.
• Confidentiality: All sensitive and personal information obtained during research must be safeguarded.
• Non-discrimination: Research must be conducted in a manner that is free from bias and discrimination.
• Ethical Publication: Research findings must be reported truthfully and without fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
• Collaboration: When collaborating with other institutions, DRILL upholds mutual respect, shared responsibility, and clear communication.
IEEE Code of Ethics Followed at DRILL: Data Tech Research and Innovation Learning Lab (DRILL) adheres to the IEEE Code of Ethics, as outlined in IEEE Policy 7.8. This code emphasizes the importance of public safety, honesty, fairness, and respect for others. Specifically, we commit to:
1. Holding paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public (IEEE Code #1).
2. Avoiding conflicts of interest and conducting work with honesty and fairness (IEEE Code #2).
3. Rejecting bribery and improper influence, while offering honest criticism of technical work (IEEE Code #3).
4. Improving the understanding of technology, its appropriate application, and potential consequences (IEEE Code #4).
5. Maintaining and improving our technical competence and undertaking tasks for others only if qualified by training or experience, or after full disclosure of pertinent limitations (IEEE Code #5).
